Yaloo's work begins by collecting fragments of daily life and transforming them into compelling narratives that push the boundaries of digital moving images. I continuously gather moments that leave a strong impression—from a theorist's sentence, artifacts in museums, construction sites in alleyways, to fairy tale audiobooks from my childhood, and Instagram Reels. By translating, re-embodying, and re-establishing these seemingly fragmented pieces, I excavate contemporary stories with my distinct, playful gestures through site-specific video installations. With a deep affection for and interest in cultural relativism from the perspective of a Korean living abroad, my recent worldbuilding is based on scientific imagination and mythological solutions, naturally drawing an interest in new technologies. I believe regional mythology and folklore have transcended time through inductive observation. I aim to make technology both absurd and humane, amplifying overlooked gaps in rapid technological advancements and exploring the limits and possibilities of humankind as part of the natural world.
