Heemin Son explores how imagined life-forms and lived realities overlap across time. Working through small sculptural “organs” and “seeds,” Son constructs hybrid fragments that read like future fossils—remains from species that never fully came into being. Drawing on evolutionary narratives, natural-history display systems, and the ambiguities of field documentation, their work examines how stories, guesses and partial evidence harden into knowledge. Son’s installations often operate like fictional micro-museums, inviting viewers into a space where belief and doubt coexist, and where speculative ecologies are approached with a quiet sense of pre-emptive mourning.
